Soil Probes

from $40.00

Our probe rods are used to locate underground anomalies, inspect soil conditions, collect soil samples and locate buried objects.

High-quality spring steel welded construction probes with durable, long-lasting carbide tips. These probes are engineered to detect buried objects, reveal soil anomalies and collect reliable soil samples with exceptional precision. They’re among the easiest to use, most effective and finest probes available for hobbyists and professionals alike. A high-quality tool manufactured in the U.S.

One of the most heavily abused tools in the field is the probe — you simply can’t avoid pushing the limits in the rough ground you’ll encounter. Our handles and rod diameter are intentionally narrow by design to improve feel and penetration. Constructed with a specialized, high-tensile spring material that is superior to conventional spring steel; this allows our probes to be thinner than most, making them significantly easier to use and less fatiguing in long sessions. The spring memory is so good with this material that it can be bent into a pronounced arch and then snap back straight as an arrow with no permanent distortion.

The handles are made from a material that produces a clear resonant sound when pushed into the ground, helping the user judge depth and contact. Tips are welded tungsten carbide and will outlast ordinary probe tips by an enormous margin. The rough-surfaced, ball-shaped carbide tip is designed to reliably capture a soil sample from as deep as the rod is pushed — critical in artifact hunting to observe the color and composition of non-native soil disturbances.

You’ll be amazed how easy and effective these are to use. The combination of lightweight construction, high-quality thin spring steel and a durable carbide ball tip makes for a truly exceptional probe.
